Las 100 mejores canciones del Hip-Hop
Tenemos polémico ranking de nuevo. La cadena musical televisiva VH1 ha elegido las mejores 100 canciones del hip-hop y está realizando una serie de programas especiales sobre ellas. Decía polémico porque, como no puede ser de otra manera, hay reglas: sólo una canción por artista. Además, la lista está centrada demasiado en los últimos años del estilo y pasa muy de puntillas por los comienzos del estilo, excepto, claro, en los momentos altos del top.
Según la cadena, este especial de cinco episodios “no sólo pretende ser una cuenta atrás, sino que quiere contar la historia detras de cada melodía y ponerte al día con lo que las estrellas old school están haciendo ahora”. La elección para número uno es tan previsible como poco polémica: está claro que Public Enemy fueron, en su día, el grupo más importante del estilo y ha sido tremenda su influencia en la evolución posterior del hip-hop y en el respeto ganado por el mundo del rap.
En cualquier caso, la lista puede ser una buena guía para los que quieran picotear artistas varios del hip-hop y empezar a decidirse por algunos.
